A Day to Remember- Her 100th day birthday!

Abby turned 100 days old on March 22nd. Here in Asia where we live this is a MAJOR milestone! It's the first day that the chid is allowed to go outside of the home and is usually marked by a great celebration. The Asians here where we live will often spend hundreds of dollars on videos and pictures to mark the 100th day. We didn't follow the custome of not taking Abby out before her 100th day or of spending tons of money to celebrate but we did celebrate it with a big party. We invited 30-40 of our friends to come. I made a 100th day cake in the shape of the number "100". A friend of mine helped me dye 40 eggs red (also part of the custome) and we wrote Abby's Asian name on one side and she made a goofy smily face on the other. I took a bunch of pictures myself and turned them into her "100th day" pictures and made wallet pictures to hand out to our friends at her party. We had a lot of fun at her party. We timed the party to be during Abby's best awake time of the day so they all got to see her and take pictures of her - which if you are at all familiar with Asian culture- was a BIG hit! We had one game that we had them all play which was a lot of fun for all of us. We had all of them get into a circle and we had 2 dolls (well 1 doll and 1 stuffed animal). We put on some baby Mozart and sort of like musical chairs they had to put the diaper on the babydoll/stuffed animal, take it back off again and pass it to the next person. When the music stopped, whoever had the doll in his or her lap had to sing an Asian lullabye to Abby. It was SO much fun! The pictures above are some of the photo's that I took for her 100th day.
