"That" kind of love
Throughout my pregnancy and in the months that have past since my baby girl was born I have learned so many things about life, love, family, and a million other things as well. It's hard to describe the learning curve of a new parent. If you've ever experienced it you know exactly what I am talking about. Words simply can not describe the emotions of not having a clue what you are doing in parenting and yet loving every minute of whatever it is that you are doing! When I reflect on some of the lessons that I have learned since Abby's arrival, I am astounded and amazed that I could learn so much in such a short amount of time. (I'm not usually the sharpest crayon in the box) But God has SO increased my capacity to love to extraordinary measures! I look at Abby sometimes (even now 4 months after her birth) and cannot fathom how deeply I love her and care for her. She doesn't have to do a thing to earn my love for her. . . she just simply "is" or exists and I love her with this amazing love that can bring tears of joy to my eyes, that can make me laugh out loud, and that somehow causes me to humiliate myself in front of other adults (without a care in the world) as I try to make her smile or laugh. I would do just about anything in the world for this precious little gift and I would do just about anything to protect her. Abby's arrival has given me a greater appreciation for the Father's love for us and her arrival has redefined "love" for me. I have heard of a mother's love but never fully understood what "that" kind of love was all about. What a joy and a gift being this sweeties mommy has been. I LOVE being her mom!
