Puffed Wheat anyone?
Well, I am just like any new mom, trying to finish taking off the last of those pregnancy pounds! I eat relatively healthy, most of the time. But last week I decided to not only go healthy for me but to go healthy for Josh as well. He had been asking me to make him some cookies so I decided if I was going to make cookies, I would make them healthy, but tasty. I made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies but I cut out 1/3 of the sugar and took out the eggs. I also substituted applesauce for the eggs and used wheat flour instead of white flour. I know you are thinking. . . G-R-O-S-S! Just eat a cookie for goodness sakes! But, just so you understand the way that my twisted mind works sometimes. . . it became sort of a game to see just how "healthy" I could make these cookies and have Josh still enjoy them. In fact, I wanted him to REALLY like them, even more than the normal kind. In the end, they turned out fantastic! He loved them, ranting and raving that they were the best cookies he'd ever had. (I think he may have been using a little reverse psychology on me so that I would make them more often- but at the time I was feeling pretty good about it!) He had several on Thursday night, I had 3. (they were small I swear it) Then of course on Friday morning I had 1 more for breakfast. Afterall, they were healthier than instant oatmeal. Life went on seemingly normal until about 12pm that day when Abby got up from her nap. I was changing her diaper and noticed that her urine smelled a bit funny. Then as I was changing her, she was tooting away and I realized that it wasn't her urine that smelled funny. And.. . what was that familiar smell anyway? Why does it remind me of puffed wheat? OOPS! Abby's toots smelled like puffed wheat for 3 days! Sorry little one. But those cookies sure were good!

Only a mom can read this truly disgusting story and appreciate it. :)
You're funny - I just throw in all the sugar. I think that before the fall, sugar tasted really nasty and carrots were to die for.
So funny! You never thought your eating habits would affect the whole family did you!
