I don't want to forget this!
Our trip home this summer was the first time that my family got to meet Abby. We were really fortunate that Josh's parents were able to travel to Asia when Abby was just 2 weeks old to meet her, share in our joy, and begin to bond with their grand daughter. I knew that my mom was excited to meet her and hold her and all of that good stuff but what I don't want to forget is my mom's response to seeing her! I pulled up outside of their house and got out of the car. Abby was buckled into the car seat in the backseat and I was unbuckling her when my mom came out to greet us. I paused in taking Abby out when I saw my mom. She gave me a great big hug and then with a twinkle in her eye she said. . . "It's good to see you. . . now hand over that baby!" :) We both laughed and I took Abby out and handed her to my mom to hold. Abby smiled and the bonding began! We are so fortunate that Abby has 2 sets of amazing grandparents! We are really praying for and planning for some good time with both sides of our family before we have to head back to Asia.
